Extended Expedition

The Extended Expedition is an incredibly strong and practical camper
trailer that has evolved as a result of our passion to push the boundaries of conventional camper trailer design.  The Extended Expedition is CAD designed and laser cut which gives us exact tolerance in manufacturing for a symmetrical and balanced camper trailer that has a superior quality finish.

We have achieved enormous strength and rigidity by bracing the chassis as one piece rather than using the traditional welded on draw-bar.   The side rails that run from the rear through to the front are rolled, creating an inside radius that further stiffens the frame.  The centre drawbar runs over 3.6 meters from the centre of the body, picking up the side rails and through the front to the Treg hitch.  We contract the services of an independent external engineering firm to review the plans and advise on the compliance of the Australian design rules.  As a result, the Extended Expedition is rated to a massive 2000kg gross trailer mass.

The Extended Expedition has been extended in length to incorporate an internal staircase.  There are 3 major benefits gained from our extended Expedition design.  The first is easy bed access, as you can walk up the stairs to a platform and enter the bed from the foot rather than climb over your partner.  The second advantage of the Extended Expedition is the extra storage space gained in the newly created platform for extra items whilst travelling, and the third is the huge immediate under cover area that is obtained without setting up the annex, as the area under roof is 5000mm x 2800mm. 

The tent component is made in-house using the best quality materials available in Australia from the 680gsm (grams per square meter) tear stop Australian PVC, through to the 15 ounce wax converters canvas throughout, which is immersed in UV stabilisers, rot and mildew inhibitors and waterproof waxes.   We use marine grade heavy duty window mesh throughout the camper and offer our customers the choice of midge or non-midge mesh.  Other standard features are the internal and external windows around the bed, a zip out removable floor for easy cleaning and repairs, and the full double layered canvas over mesh annex.  The Extended Expedition also features straight end walls for maximum usable internal space.
